Massey 255 aux. hydraulic lever is hard to get it ti wor

My factory aux. hydraulics on my Massey 255 are getting really hard to work. I've replaced the filter by the lever has to be pulled all the way up as far as I can before it works. It's the same way when pushing the down. The aux. control and filter are on the left side of the tractor and the control lever is on the right connected by a rod running below the seat and under a metal cover. I'm figuring that I'm gonna have to pull the seat and cover to see what's wrong. It was easy to operate when I bought the tractor several years ago but now to get the lever to operate, the lever will bend before it will make the hydraulic cylinder move in either direction. I can't find anything on the internet or in my manual about it. Wondering if anybody haws any suggestions. I asked down on the Massey forum and only got 1 response which is probably what's wrong

If I recall, there are pins that may be partially sheared that connect the right side lever to the left side mounted valve. Try spraying your favorite panther pee on the spool valve behind the left side valve mount plate. If the pins are worn, the control lever will have lots of play when centered, and tight spool valves make the pins wear faster. The valve will unbolt from the support plate, but you might need to stand on your head to see what is going on. The valve inlet and return lines go down the left side PTO control cover, plus there's a small bleed line on the lift cover upper left side. The support plate is held under the seat bracket two bolts, with the seat off and lines disconnected along with the coupler support the assembly can be removed and turned upside down for bench repair as needed. It will be a handful though, especially if there are two valves mounted. A single mount valve is a bit easier.

Thanks, my friend, that's what I was wondering about. I'll check into it this week if the weather still says rain and let you know what I found
