Online auction idiot

When it comes to on line auctions i'm a idiot. I
got registered and figured out pre biding.I got on
the spot and and watched the biding but never could
figure out how to bid .I like being there
better. You just raise you hand and make a bid.All I
got to worry about is a kid in back with a yo yo
running up the bid.

I've done it two or three times. I set up an automatic bid with a maximum on a moco. After seeing what earlier haybines were going for I decided to go higher and clicked when the bidding hit my max but I was shut out. Could not up my bids.

I bet you were on equipmentfacts? They have a lock button you need to click before you bid. It is a two step process that is supposed to keep you from accidentally bidding on something when you touch your phone. So you click "unlock bidding", then you click "bid". Once your item is past, you can again "lock bidding"

I have noticed on hibid that some auctions are internet bidding then live bidding on site. So you can bid on the item until the live auction date then they lock the internet out and you have to bid at the actual auction location.

Depends on how sale is setup. Some sales you can bid till auctioneer says sold. There have been couple big sales locally that are internet bidding only. Personally, i like internet bidding. You can go in advance and look at item and dont have to waste time waiting for something to sell.

wish they've had that in the early days of online bidding. My cat bought a $20,000 dump truck I had to go to Florida & get.

(quoted from post at 23:58:32 08/20/22) I have noticed on hibid that some auctions are internet bidding then live bidding on site. So you can bid on the item until the live auction date then they lock the internet out and you have to bid at the actual auction location.

Never seen that scenario.

Most are internet bidding until the live auction begins on site.
Then you have to follow the live auction go from one item to the next until they get to the ones your interested in.
They even have live audio and sometimes video to go with.
Auctioneer still does the oldtime song and spiel, going once twice twice thrist SOLD.
So internet bidders and onsite bidders have time theoretically to .ake their final bid.

In order to tell you how to bid when the auction goes live, we would have to know which auction website is being used.

I use proxibid quite often.
You have to join the live bidding and are assigned a bidder number, etc.
