Kubota L 4350 front pinion seal leak

My L4350 with about 1400 hours on it has developed a leak at the front axle pinion seal. I have a 'Workshop manual that shows how to replace the seal, but does not show how to access it. Can I get to the seal by removing the axle assembly, and what should I look for in the process?

IF it truly is the pinion seal you go under the tractor in the middle of the grey shaft cover remove two bolts then the cover will slide together (front into rear) . You will then see the actual drive shaft. Look at each end there is a 4 inch long coupler. Drive the roll pin out of each coupler at that point slide the couplers on the shaft and drop the shaft out. You then can look right at the front pinion seal. However you may have the seal back at the transmission leaking and the fluid going to the front and running out. That is a much more common leak at 1100 hours. Do some good looking before you go to knocking the fronts seal out. E-mail open if you need more info.

Fairly simple seal replacement if built the same as L series , lift front end after tire removal access from bottom of seal remove cover - snap ring lower assembly replace seal reassemble .. went easy for me

I'm pretty sure it's the pinion seal, I have gear oil leaking not transmission/hydraulic oil fluid leaking, and it is the pinion seal not the seals on the axle ends already replaced them.

Thanks for the replies-
