Odd light switch

Our house is a Design Home and we are happy with it. A 3 way light switch quit working and I replaced it with the only spare switch I had. There are no boxes in the wall, the switch clamps to the opening . I need to get a few more but dont know what they are called.

Not familiar with Design Home. Is that a modular or mobile home?

The switch you pictured looks like a mobile home application.

Design Home modular homes are really nice homes, built in Prairie duChien Wis. The PS in the upper left corner indicates it is a Pass and Seymour product. I think part number/SKU is ES-2329 but not sure if that is a 3-way SKU. Definitely a modular/mobile home or RV code product. Nothing wrong with that, I've used them before. Thanks for the reply's, my mind went blank and I couldn't remember rocker switch. I looked at the links but didn't find 3 way switches yet, I'll keep looking.

We have that type of switches in a stick built home, I like them, you can turn them on with you elbow if your hands are full. I changed a couple to illuminated ones, so we can find them in the dark, they seem to be readily available, ours are mounted in regular boxes.
