I had a 55 D2 when I built my pond in 1985.
It had a blade on the front.

Definitely a D-2 the bearing cap on the side of the roller frame gives it away. A D-4 would not have that as they had the pivot for the roller frame under the back end with a bearing there to hold the roller frame in alignment.
