Saving Scrap Iron Just in Case

I'm sure most of you save bits and pieces of scrap "just in case" you might need it for a future project.
My old Ford LGT-18 lawn tractor has always had a problem with the RH side of the deck "scalping" under certain conditions on rough terrain. I decided to mount a castor wheel to help alleviate the problem. I used various pieces of scrap I've accumulated. You sharp eyed farmers may recognize a particular old piece of scrap I used in my fabrication. I have used pieces of this for many projects over the years.

Great stuff to work with isn't it?

That's a good idea.
My mower deck has 4 wheels, one at each
corner.
Your's will get the job done

I cut and welded some pieces of one to lift a bin for a bottom ring change a couple years ago. No big deal with it,. Dad's barn has wooden ones in it.

Nice job Crooked.......I have a nice clean wooden one that I would like to mount a mirror in but never "got a round tuit".

(quoted from post at 04:20:49 08/09/22) My sharp eye sees it. But I don't know what it is or what it's from
lol what is it?

Look at the upper and lower LH side of "Crooked"'s picture of the cow stanchion. The steel from these comes in hand for many projects.

I even disassemble worn out recliners and save the steel parts. Also bed frames. Lots of potential in that stuff.
