Ok-- dumb question I guess. How do you change the oil filter on a MF1100-- the one in the front of the tractor. I unscrewed the nut on the bottom of the canister but it still won't budge. Also is there another filter on this tractor for hydraulic/transmission oil?

The cannister on my 1135 goes a good distance up into the housing and it took quite a lot to work it free. You might try thumping the bottom end of the cannister sideways with a rubber mallet (don't take the center bolt clear out so it doesn't drop, by some odd chance, while you are trying to get it free).

The canister in front of the radiator is the hydraulic filter there is also a screen filter in the bottom of the transmission/differential,you had better check that also (note you will lose all your transmission/hydraulic fluid when you remove that cover plate! Its best to have a decent size drain pan,we use about 1/3 of a plastic barrel as our catch pan.
