Loctite 303420 32429 545 Pneumatic and Hydraulic Fittings Thread
Sealant, 10 mL

I ordered some from Amazon.

If they are JIC fittings you don't need anything for them to seal. And if your hydraulic guys are not dumping the fittings in tubs and damaging the threads they pipe fittings should seal when tightened properly. I seldom use dope on fittings for leak prevention. If I do it is a Teflon type of stuff you put on the threads and scrw them together and no it is not a tape. It is in a can. Old enough it has small grainy consistency to it now. I just smush the grains if they are to big and thin it with a bit of oil as I stir it in.

I use it on 1/8 pipe and new 1/4 pipe fittings. 3/8 and bigger get 2 wraps of tape even sometimes that is not enough with all the fitting from land of allmost rite.

545 is awesome stuff. It will seal npt threads when nothing else will. Just be sure your parts are clean, and allow it enough time to harden before applying pressure.

It is more of a glue like red and blue loctite than a pipe dope. Enough to fill the first thread of the male part is plenty, more just makes a mess.

I have a tiny drip, the threads on a hydraulic cylinder leak. Teflon tape doesn't work. Pipe dope doesn't work on the drip.
Thanks for your reply. I'll post back
with my results.

Most times that I have a taper pipe fitting leaking it's because a British thread has been forced into a National thread, or vice versa.

Once that has been done, both threads have been damaged. Sometimes a tap will straighten it out, but often the coupling on a cylinder is too short to get a tap in deep enough.

The sealer might work, worth a try...
