The first customers tractor I was let loose on, on my own, after I
finished my apprenticeship was one of these. Came in running on three
cylinders with a burnt out valve. I had to stand on a board resting on two
drums to get to the head bolts. Valves looked like dinner plates after the
car valves I was used to.

Got her done and she ran like a clock, I was so proud of myself. Customer
did not collect her for about a month after I finished the job and she
sat out at the back of the garage, I used to go out every week and just
start her up just to hear her run.

Very fast on the road I seem to remember but it is over 60 years ago but I
remember the first start up like yesterday. (Come to think of it, I cannot
remember yesterday). :0)

Think it is a GBD. Picture is from the Marsham Tractor Show about 15 miles from me.

The MM in my post below was probably a GT brought over in WW2. It had the petrol/kerosene engine.

MM assembled tractors here for a short period and fitted them with Meadows and Gardener diesel engines but they were too expensive for the market at that time. (1948 to 1949).
