Better than straight pipe and no muffs. A taller pipe would move some of the noise up higher and be better.
I can understand the ear muffs. I put a chrome 4 straight pipe on my cosmetically restored '79 JD 4230 and even the sound guard
cab couldn't keep the dB level bearable. It attended many parades in my area adorned with flags and all. With that big 6 just above
idle the music was beautiful and it got a lot of thumbs up. When I sold it....bad mistake, the first thing the buyer said was that he
was going to put a muffler on it.
