Tractor at a Car Show

The KC's at my church had their second annual benefit show today. I had contacted the coordinator to see if they discriminated against tractors like so many car clubs around here do. h said Come on! Other than it being 103 i6 was an excellent show and my Ford got plenty of notice. Saw people I knew and made new friends.

Our township's bicentennial was in '17 and a car/tractor show was one of the events. My 1550 was the only tractor there. Less than a mile from home so I drove it in. An hour later a front tire went flat. Still got the trophy though.

Pa bought a 59 Ford for my sisters and I to drive while in school. It was not the Fairlane 500. It was simply called Custom. No crome at all. Hub caps instead of full wheel covers. Baby blue two door with that 2 speed auto transmission. Was that called Ford-o-matic?

Grandpa had a '64 Fairlane with a 260 automatic. Dad got it for a second car around 1970-71. In 1971, I drove it 90 miles to a wedding and then another 370 miles to see my girlfriend (now wife). Almost all interstate @ 70-75 mph. And back home, all in a long weekend. That poor Fairlane was never the same afterwards.

Nice show pictures.

In 106 degree temps a drive in that ranch truck would be a real cooker. Thanks for the pics and the memories.

Nice. Always room for a tractor. My first car was a 65 Ford Econoline window van. I put up curtains, added a couch in back and a really nice Craig floor mount stereo with 8 track. This picture is what I had but not mine.
