A nice group of Majors in their working clothes. The loader is a Horndraulic
made by Steel Fabrications Limited in Wales, the attachment is a Nuway -
Benson, bale handler for picking up stacks of bales from a bale sledge
behind the baler. (Been there, done that, eaten the dust). Assembled and
commissioned many of the bale handlers, they were quite popular in the
1960's.
Next are two Power Majors from around 1958, fourth is a Fordson Major Diesel
with Power Major or Super Major cast front wheels, and last is an E27N Major
with a petrol/kerosene engine.

Thanks for the info Majorman. This display is at Newark agricultral show here in the UK. In the early 1960s the dealer I worked for sold a lot of the bale grabs and I had the job of fitting them on the customers loaders etc. MJ.

Is the bale handler complete. Without hydraulic pressure how could it hold and carry bales without tines or something equivalent under the bales?

MajorMan. I want to know who picked the tractor show location. Happens to be in the parking area of the Cafe and Bar according to the sign. Im
sure its owned by an American. If owned by a resident of the UK it would have read Pub instead of Bar. Ha ha. Best regards. Wingnut

Yes, there is a pipe running down the loader and onto a single acting ram
across the back of the grab. The arms went either side of the stack,
operated the ram which caused the arms to grip the bales, lift and off you
go. Takes about eight bales a time if I remember correctly.

Seems in later years they were made by Perry, here is a video of one at work. Certainly an improvement on a pitch-fork especially if the baler man had put extra hay-dogs in the chamber and was packing them tight. :0(

OK, I see the cylinder now. I mistook the white hydraulic hose for a release rope.
