so i was baling today and just dropped a bale then tractor started to make a loud growling noise like something was slipping/ Then noticed the pto had stopped turning shut down everything and unhooked baler still no pto. Any ideas?????

Pull the live shaft from the engine. Sound like you striped the shaft or the drive hub at the engine flywheel.

Yep, I've stripped a couple of them off. Sounds like the world's coming to an end.

If you stripped the live shaft spline, you would also have no hydraulics.

When u talk about the live shaft is it the same if u have duel pto or single? Do u take off the plate in the back and pull shaft ?
