Point Hicks on the coast, miles from anywhere. Victoria, Australia. One of our favourite spots anywhere in the world. Wild, windy, silent apart from the waves, just spend time walking in the bush and watching whales and seals. Even a ship wreck just along the coast where a ship load of Ford Model T's ran aground and sank. :0)

Thank you Richard, it is quite a special place even when the generator fails in the accommodation as it did in a storm last time we were there.

Named Point Hicks after the navigator on Captain Cook's ship, supposedly the first point they sited on the Australian continent on their voyage of discovery.
 
MajorMan. The rocks look weather and wave worn. I love the sea. Its as if the sounds of the ocean can calm the soul. I spent many hours on the cat walks of the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 watching the flying fish glide 7 meters or more. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I was initiated as a Shell Back at the equator Latitude 00 deg and Longitude 105 deg 24 E ( give me a break-thats from a worn memory). Ive sailed on a number of seas and made liberty at many port of calls. Sailed the upper Pacific and South Pacific, South China Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea. I seldom tell of my adventures because most would not believe me anyway. Except maybe another sailor. Wingnut
 
I have never been to sea proper but Ann and I love our ferry trips to Holland across the North Sea and that can be pretty rough at times The ferry to Ireland across the Irish Sea was the most interesting though, accompanied by the sound of breaking dishes in the galley and not being able to leave your seat without being thrown against the side.

We also take ferries and river cruises in every place we can, not the same as the sea trips but we love the water too.

The second picture of the rocks does not really convey the distance and size of them.
