Not exactly sure what you have going on never worked on one of those, but often seals can be popped out by
prying them out with a larger screwdriver. If they are down in a recess carefully drilling a small hole and screwing
a metal screw in is another method. Then pull it out with a claw hammer or crow bar. If the rod is still in the end
cap and that is your issue either the piston that goes in the cylinder will unscrew or has a nut to remove or the
outer end that connects to the steering linkage will screw off.

After you remove the hose from the cylinder, from the same
hole ,you need to reach down and with a flat head
screwdriver and pry the steel retaining ring forward, Then
the rod and piston will come out. CM

Chuck's got your answer. You need to unseat the snap ring on the piston. Work through the hydraulic port and pop it out its groove. Piston will
then come out of the cylinder and seal can be removed and replaced. Reinstalling the snap ring can be frustrating as again you must work through
the hose port to seat the snap ring, but I am sure you can do it!

John Saeli area code 315-585-9826 has the replacement seals for that cylinder. Give him a call in the morning and hell have them to you in a couple of days. CM

I would push that cylinder both ways before removing the end gland, or you will have oil all over the place. If you use air pressure to push that gland out of the barrel, or if you use the shaft to pull it out as the oil will squirt out either the hose hole or the end of the barrel. Then by pushing the gland in some the snap ring should come right out like described.
