Tire Wear on pavement

I put a new set of BKT tires on my Oliver 1550 last year. I kept track of the tractor ride miles to see how bad they wear. Counting 4 rides this year they have close to 1400 miles on them. The rear tires look good and not showing much wear, but the outside rib on the front tires is nearly gone. Would lowering the tire pressure help with the wear,Im running about 30 pounds in them. Thanks,Chris

that will not help. they have too much positive camber on them for hyway driving. need a wide front with proper toe in and they will last just as good as the rears. probably be better of with car tires on the front.

The tires on my 4430 are worn severely due to lots of miles on the road by the previous owner. I did as suggested and had the fronts dismounted and reversed- the now outer ribs are in great shape and work well for hay mowing, my main purpose. I had the chloride removed from the inner rears and new tubes installed, but left the old, worn tread tires in place, as they work almost like turf tires in the hay fields. They actually look like cut pulling tires. The duals have decent tread, but I leave them inside the barn.

Don't think tire pressure would help.
I think the side wear is caused by the angle of the tire..
However the inside rib is showing more wear than the center.

Increasing the pressure might increase the wear on the center.

The IH 560 diesel tractor drive toy has just over ten thousand miles and the front 7.50 X 20 three rib tires are over 1/2 worn on the center rib. Check the front toe in, that really helps with front tire wear. The 13.6 X 38 560 rear tires are the Titan center rib tire and show little wear at all. The Ford 6000 has the BKT Ride Max radials on the rear, and the JD 4020 Powershift I'm working on now has them also.

Turning the tires around on the wheels will help. Like Rust said to much camber to wear good on the road. They were set like that for field work to steer without sliding on the ground. Now you would have to bend the spindles or change to a wide front to change the wear much. then with the wide front the toe will be the big factor in wear. You will be better served with Car tires on the front if you want better waer on your narrow front for now.

It maybe just the angle of the picture but something looks wrong with the front. Shaft 180 off?
