Hello gmg welcome to YT. By information in the post I
linked it does not look like there is a comparable
Mazda automotive engine to directly swap into that
tractor if that is the road you are wanting to go down. I
obtained this information In the previous YT post I
have linked, the 4th and 5th replies by Douglas and
Dave seem to cover your query.

As an added note, apparently at some point there were
some pretty ..salty.. characters on this forum. If you
read that entire post have your grain of salt at the
ready. In general YT does not condone the content of a
couple of those replies.

Lots of opinions in that link that that was posted. If you email me, I can send you a link to a factory owners/shop manual that you can print off, or keep on your phone or laptop and use as you wish one page at a time. I think it' about 70 pages long. Our tractor club has one and I have several part numbers for tune up parts, etc, most of which are NAPA numbers. The manual I have is at our club's farm and not here right now where those numbers are listed but I will get it this week. Here's my email address ..... [email protected] ...... I think my email is open on Classic view, not sure about modern.

The engine is a 1000 cc (65 cubic inches I think) Mazda Australian truck engine from the early 70's, I don't think it was used in any other Mazda model. The model of the truck was a Mazda Boolabong (not sure of the spelling). Believe it or not, I ordered a Mazda OEM set of points from a local Mazda dealer a few years back, it was shipped to them from a dealership in Florida. NAPA points work but I remember having to do a bit of a modification to make them fit. The points in the tractor right now are NAPA ones, I have the spare Mazda points here.

Here's a photo of our club's Mazda .... great little tractor, I don't imagine though that engine parts would be available much or very cheap. I also bought some carb parts (a kit) from a US supplier, I think that contact info might be written in our manual.

Here's a link to the manual I was talking about (below). You can print it off, pretty good basic manual. No rebuild stuff though. I think the Mazda van/truck might have been named the BONGO .... several versions since the late 60's, they might still be in production (different than the early ones obviously).

The link for the manual hits a dead end for whatever reason. The link I have here in my laptop cannot be loaded into an email, when I try to do it I get a message that the file is too large. Never had that happen before. There might be a way to find it at your end though if you're still interested.

had to use an older browser and put in an exception as its old home brew home page, with very old security certificates from years ago. however it did work after changing the https to http.
