Box scraper on a Farmall C?

Long dirt driveway in need of maintenance. My Farmall C has a plow attachment currently, but I d like to run a box blade on it. Anyone use a box blade on a C before? Wondering how effective it would be.

I used a box blade on Jubilee to maintain gravel driveways.
I wasn't impressed with the box blade, so I sold it.
Problem, when one wheel goes in a pothole it changes the height
and angle of the blade..

I use a snow blade, you can change the angle of the blade. And
Adjust the lift arm to crown the road.

Just a regular blade at a slight angle will be what you want and let it float no down pressure but thats hard to do with your C

The best blade in this instance is mounted under the tractor so the depth of the blade cut/action is averaged between the front and rear wheels. The next best is a rear
blade that has a trailing wheel or wheels that self adjust its depth (again, between the rear tractor tires and the gaug wheels on the blade. An experienced operator
with constant adjustment can be successful with a rear blade, but frustration and learning both must co exist. It takes practice. A light road maintainer may be a better
fit. Dr 48 Manual Power Grader 38101-- this might be one example. Jim

Once a year I take this contraption to maintain my friend's
gravel driveway.

I can see what I'm doing.
I can angle the blade.
Apply down pressure.
Crown the driveway.

The key to maintaining driveways is to prevent water from
pooling in the road..

It can use landscape rake too.

Works nice to clean up sticks and leaves in his lawn.

Knocks down mole hills too..

My homemade forks are not rigid.

If you can operate the box blade properly, it will be as effective as it can be. The tractor is plenty to operate 5' box blade.

Ideally you'd need a 3pt hitch or a fast hitch to attach the box blade, but where there's a will there's a way. At least, you need a way to lift and lower the box blade, and to rock it forward and rearward to either scrape up material, or distribute the material gathered in the blade.

You can mount your blade under your tractor so you can use it as a
grader. It's meant to do that from the factory.

I built a blade to do just that on my Super C. It worked well on my gravel driveway. Hooked on the rear drawbar, ran arms up to below the center lift arms and attached a section of used cutting edge I scrounged. You could then tilt the blade with the lift arms to put on a crown. Tractor and blade are both gone now but it did what I wanted it to while I had them.

If you had a fast hitch and the blade or the front blade can be used on the belly, but I've never found enough parts to put mine
on the belly.
