By looking at the scenery in the background I'm guessing they used it to put in Irrigation pipe? Surely not tiling for drainage.
 
A late 1940's -1950's Cleveland ''95''.

They usually had a Continental engine, but this one looks like it has had a IHC transplant, or maybe just the sheetmetal and grille off of a Farmall/Continental stationary powerplant?
 
A glance at the motor, I think it is an IHC gas over diesel start, by the position of the fuel filters.

I would guess same as an MD or a WD-9.
