Farmall super c wont start cold

I have a 54 Farmall super c that we just rebuilt last year but for some reason it will not start up cold. When it gets hot it pops right off and runs great. It has a new ignition coil, condenser, and points. The spark plugs were put in last year. I dont know what else could be wrong.

If carburetor was rebuilt and only set to
book adjustments on the work bench, and
then installed and not tampered with after
that, it might just need a little fine
tuning of the carb adjustment screws.

Had a tractor one time that kind of acted
the same way. Ran fine once started, but
the only way to get it started was to pull
start it, and find a happy place with the
choke while doing so. Once running, it'd
even run with the choke off.
Monkeying around with the carb adjustments,
straightened it out.

Might not be it in your case. But just a
thought.

First thing to come to my mind is the choke not closing all the way. On most carbureted engines the choke needs to be fully closed, ot just mostly closed to get her running when cold. Its easy to check it out.

Learn simple trouble shooting.
#1 make sure you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at all the plug wires that jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 make sure you have a good steady flow of gas to the carb by pulling the drain plug and make sure it wil fill a pint jar in less the n3 minutes and 2 is even better.
#3 when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner and dumped the water and mud out of it and filled it with fresh oil

I once had a tractor on which the choke quit working. It turned out that a screw backed out allowing the choke plate to fall out of place.

Virtually all gas engines require a richer mixture to start cold than they do when hot. So as others said look for anything like the choke not closing fully or a low float bowl gas level.

Did you check to make sure the tractor isn't just out of gas.
