Ford 8830 4x4....update

I went and looked at a 8830 Ford with fwa.I took a battery along and it fired right up no smoke.I put it in gear it moved 3 feet and stopped and wouldnt move again any ideas on this?

I have had that experience. Most likely it is one of the clutch pac seals in the transmission, so it is in need of a transmission rebuild.

I don't remember. It must be at the fill plug on one side or the other. Post this on the Ford forum. There are a few Ford guys that come on and look at Ford but sometimes not the others.
 
It could be electrical. It could be a clutch pack. Ask on the Ford board. Bern can probably help you with that. I'm assuming that this is a powershift model with the early funk...

Have had similar issues with the Funk powershift tranny on Agco and White tractors. They are similar transmissions if not the same unit. Usually it is electronic and not internal to the transmission. One was the transmission controller itself and another the dash in the tractor sending out intermittent signals. Clutch pressure switch as well as the park position sensor.
