The best water jacket cover gasket sealer for a '49 mode

Steps: Using a flat metal surface and a steel form that fits the channel in the cover, flatten the bolt holes to assure even force. With a new gasket, spread a thin film of Permatex#2 (non-hardening) on both sides. Position the cover being careful to get the baffle where it belongs. Install all the bolts finger tight. Use a socket and extension (if carb is off) to hand tighten each (not the ratchet, just again hand tight). TIghten progressively across in an X shaped pattern about 1/2 turn each until the sealer is seen squeezing out. This avoids over tightening. The tin should not be deformed. Jim
