Hey guys,
I have been working on my model R pony. I have yet to find someone who has made a video of the tear down and reassembly of the pony, so I have decided to video as much of the process as I can in an effort to help others. Here is the link to the part 1 video.

Interesting little motor.

Sure has some big valves!, It must turn some high RPMs, at least the ones I've heard sounded like they were
really ringing! Does it have a governor?

Anything you can do to solve the main oiling problem?

Yeah they turn pretty high RPM, Yes it does have a governor. I have not seen anyone say they can solve it. I am thinking I will mix some Lucas Oil in with my Oil once I get it all together to try and give it some more lubricity.

High rpm's is right. I believe it is 6 or 7 thousand rpm's governed, but if you allow that pony to
stay engaged after the big engine firs up those rpms will go completely nuts and pieces start to
fly.

Have to let go as soon at big engine fires so you don't let just anyone start them without some
pretty good instructions on how it is done.

We had a used 730 Deere and parts many was showing interested customer how to start it and I was
plugging my ears. Well, delivery guy took it out to buyer. Shows him how to start it and that was
it. I got to rebuild a pony.

I dont know if this will help you out at all or not, but the R pony engine is almost exactly the same as the cat pony's on their equipment of that same era and those are a lot more readily available etc.
