Steering shaft looks a bit under-engineered. Altogether a fine example of rust, ready for another days work. Gerrit

I had a 1941. The steering worked very
well. We also had a JD MT. The MM
steering worked so much easier and better
there was no comparison.

I beg to differ on the under engineered steering. Anybody can build something that is over built. But A good engineer will and does design something that barely works. That means to make it
durable, functional, and with minimal parts & labor. Besides I can tell you from personal experience that I spent many hours on several MM tractors as a kid. The ergonomics were spot on with that
steering wheel tilted to the right. The right side of the tractor where the plow furrow was. So that steering wheel tilt made it more comfortable to steer the tractor all day long.

Always good to get an education on tractors. If one comes up for sale I won't let that steering deter me. Gerrit
