Paint restorer

We've got a few old Farmalls and IH tractors with faded paint. Has anyone had any luck with any type of paint restorer? I tried a little rubbing compound on one of them but it didn't seem to help.

The M is primered and will be getting a new coat of paint but a couple of the others are still well protected by their paint, it's just faded.

If the paint has some thickness left, rubbing compound has worked well for me.

Rubbing compound would really only be good on the sheetmetal and then you would need an electric buffer. If the paint is in good shape probably your best bet would be to scuff sand it and put a fresh coat of paint on it.

If that primered M has sat around for more thana month you will need to scuff and apply sealer prior to paint. Primer does not protect metal from anything.
