Amazing collection. I was always impressed with his fabrications, the wood hauling trailer, the bumpers, side steps, tool boxes, he was a gifted man!

He was a talented guy when it came to his fabrication skills. I always enjoyed his informative posts he had on the site. It looked like a great auction with allot of neat stuff until I read the 10% buyer's fee.

All the auctions around here have the 10% buyers fee. If you pay with a credit card there is another fee.

The Auction company gets paid either way.
It just sounds good to the seller when the auction company tells then we going to charge the buyer 10 percent rather than taking 10 percent of your profits off the top.

Dunno about Mr. Goodrich, but many auctioneers "double-dip" and charge BOTH the buyer AND seller.

Very few around here do and it is mostly auctioners that have no record of being good of having a sale you would want to go to.

Real simple just bid accordingly,no matter how its charged out up front the buyers are paying for the auction,no one else is putting out any money.

I have never understood the folks that get all bent out of shape on this just figure when you bid hundred dollars you are bidding 110 dollars. The guy you are bidding against has to pay the same fee. Pretty well standard practice in the auction industry around here.

Do you think the seller would prefer to pay the auctioneer 20% or 10%??

No doubt the auctioneer is going to get his percentage from seller or buyer or a combo.
