3 weeks ago I attended sale # 1 for the Neil Ford Estate auction that was held near Chanute,Kansas....Yesterday,I attended sale # 2 for the Ford Estate...It was a beautiful sunny day with temps in the low mid 70's..The only reason I even got to attend this sale was that my first MSTPA hook of the year at Harrisonville,MO was called off because of wet conditions..From May 2nd-6th a large part SW Missouri was deluged with from 3 to 9 inches of rain..SE Kansas was also hit with from 3-6 inches of rain...It did lots of flooding and sure tore the roads up..Lamar,MO just to the south of me had lots of flooding..Starting tomorrow we will have 4 straight days with a temp of 90 degrees...That will dry things out.

It was wet at the sale and several got stuck..There wasnt a real big crowd but the bidding was brisk..Only 4 of the 28 tractors ran.

with some being big and some being smaller..Theres enough machinery there to farm 20,000-30,000 acres or more.

I am like all the others enjoy the auction reports but the country photos are the best , I have been across Kansas on the interstate but just never got a chance to see it as you picture it. Back roads sure look interesting.

It just stripped overburden off seams of coal. Several other interesting pieces of equipment there including a Dart truck. I have either been thru or have found some of the places that have been posted.

Great pictures, amazing how flat it is there, nothing but mountains here, thank you so much for showing us a area different from here in eastern NY.

THANKS again 1206--very interesting as usual-That is quite the shovel!-Alot of bargains at the sale---Tee

Thanks for your pictures I always enjoy reading of your sale trips. Good thing I wasn't there I would have been bidding on some of those and then trying to figure a way to get them back
to N. Arkansas. Your road trips are always great at bringing back old school day memories.

I'll add my usual thanks. You always do such a good job with this and the comments from viewers are well deserved.

Thank you for the auction pictures, always enjoy the posts. Interesting the first owner didnt get the CA but is what it is. We had a 1991 Ranger extended cab 4x4 years ago, same color as yours. Are you running the 4.0L engine?

Great report, looks like a good day for buyers. I enjoy the one-room schoolhouses and countryside you take the time to post. I've wondered about the roads out there, remember coming to a crossroads like 164th St and 8th Avenue. Were they maybe planning for a big city? These roads were in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks again, Gerrit
