Trailer Springs

I was looking at my trailer. One side looked low almost on the fender. On further inspection one axle had a broken spring on one side. The other side spring was twisted, and the top spring was bent. If our town would apend more money on road pothole repair, instead of bike lanes we all be better off. So it's off to the next town. I bought two new six leaf springs. I was having a hard time to get the spring pin to fit into the axle. After a lot of struggling, I found the axle hole was too small for the spring pin. It would have never fit. I had to dissemble the spring pack, and turn the bolt head down to fit the axle. That could have been a fairly simple job, but as it turned out it wasn't. I have one side finished. On the bright side the next town had gas at 5.13 Tomorrow is another day. Stan

Stan.
I'm lucky to have a place in town that specializes in springs.
All types of springs from Semi to cars even trailer springs.

They also specialize in alignments..

Is this an older trailer? Talking like 80's 70's 60's era.

Most trailer suspensions made in the last 20-30 years are built to the "Dexter Axle" standard so parts are compatible.

I've got an older trailer with this oddball brand of axles and suspension. Nothing you can buy now will fit it.

I would guess 60's. My brother drug these axles home years ago. I removed the axles from my Big Tex and installed these heavy duty axles around 15 years
ago. I replaced one of these axles recently because the brake parts are no longer available. Stan
