Good morning, Im looking for help identifying my injection
pump timing marks. According to my manual my pump gear
should have a 4 on it. Mine only has a dot, no matter how
many time ls I turn the engine around my dots never align.

First what year tractor do you have
81/9-85 5610 used a CAV DPA pump
10-85/93 used a CAV DPS pump
Some of the pump gears had numbers 3 and 4 on them for use in 3 and 4 cylinder engines
Other gears only had dots
Once the timing is set on these Ford engines it takes something like 90 turns before the marks realign again, but as long as the gears have not been removed those marks dont matter
If youve removed the from cover and displaced the pump gear all of the timing marks will have to be reset

Im replacing the injection pump. My question is with my gear
having dots, as long as I have the engine on top dead center
for 1 cylinder. I will need to make sure the dot for the pump is
lined up with the mark on the timing gear, correct?

Removing/replacing the pump does not require gear removal, it should have been left alone as is, where is. What HOPEFULLY will be right is align all other marks and use the number four on the pump gear to idler mark.
