Well... Sorta. My wife was checking out marketplace yesterday and found this cub cadet, she said you need the baby brother!! So we have a new ('74) lawn mower! Runs and cuts great. It will fit right in.

I had a cub cadet 100 back in the early 80's.
It had a 10 hp Kohler and a belt stater/generator which didn't last very long. The mower spindles were a PIA. Had to replace many. Over built 3 speed tranny and clutch. Too slow in first gear and too fast in 2 gear for mowing..The Mower deck had 3 blades.
All too small to do much good job.
Replaced mower belts annually. Replaced the starter about every 2 years..

Mine came with bar type rear tires..

I know what you mean about their decks. My son has one. We have to replace a spindle again this year. I am guessing it will be an annual thing.

Overbuilt transmission, Yep internals are the same full size Cub and Cadet. Anyone need parts, I have a few Cadet transaxles, manual and hydro.

I think they are over rated.
People who are into garden tractor pulls love them because of their heavy transmission and clutch.

I sold mine for $100 and glad someone else has it.

I had 2 Cub Cadets for many a year, both a 69 104 and a 71 129 and never had a problem with that starter-generator and never any spindal problems. The 104 was a gear drive and neded the extra transmission for lower speeds as the low gear in standard transbission was just too fast and only deck problem was the distarge opening should have been 2 bigger as that liked to plug .being too small. Had more problems with the 12 HP Koler engine on the 129 as it was very hard to start and then keep running towards last. I am not an engine mechanic and when trying to start it would be on every compression stroke you could feel air blowing out thru the carb. I don't think that was correct but the dealer said it was normal. Got so it would quit running and only way to get it running was to take carb off and take apart and put back together without finding anything and then after a lot of cranking it would start and run for perhaps an houre and die and have to repeat thet carb dissambly. And the 10 horse blew the top off the piston.

Well Sir, it is a 1967 to 1969
With Incorrect muffler.
Can't tell if stick shift or hydrostatic.
But if engine is painted black it is a replacement engine, most likely 10hp or 12hp.
If it is yellow engine it can be an original engine, 10 or 12hp.

The model is either a 104 or 105 or 124 or 125 per grill and fender shapes and the fiberglass dash with bright blue stripe.
A hydro model number ends in an odd number and stick model ends in even number.
First two numbers tells you the hp.

If you had a CC 100 it was already twenty years old.
You got it just in time to replace some worn parts.
