First Crocus

Finally the second nice day in April today. So I went out to check the fences. Found some were still under deep snowbanks. Spotted the first crocus of spring up on the hill by the Red River Special thresher.

Rusty,

I really admire your stamina. Many years ago, I lived in Southern Minnesota for four years. I sometimes thought I might just pray to freeze to death and get it over with.

Here in Southern Middle Tennessee, the crocuses and daffodils have come and gone. The irises are starting to bloom. I've been mowing my lawn for about a month. Winters here ain't perfect, but they are manageable.

Six months of winter here. I have been feeding hay six months now and its not over yet. You can see in the video the old grass is pretty dead looking. There is some green starting to show in places and the cattle are going after it.
