Did Mack make a pickup?

Yesterday, while driving in town, I saw a BIG MACK. A pickup that looked like a Mack truck but it was a pickup. On the tailgate was Big Mack.

This is the second custom pickup I've seen in my hood.

I wish I wasn't in a hurry. I would have turned around and stocked the truck and got a pic.

I would like to find the person who has the talent to make a custom one of a kind pickup.

I'm looking for another custom 1937 dodge club cab pickup. I want that truck...it's sweet...

From 36-44 they did according to Google. My guess is someone took a Mack hood and cab and put it on a pickup frame. Or put a bed behind the cab of a single axle tractor. Custom job for sure.

<My guess is someone took a Mack hood and cab and put it on a

I looked at trucks from the 1930s, they all have teardrop
headlights.

This pickup is definitely someone's handy work..

Thanks, Most trucks from the 1930 have round fenders and teardrop headlights. This truck is not from the 30s. Definitely a custom.

George this one is local to me. He told me he built it from stuff he had laying around his shop. He has some other cool projects he has worked on. Truck is powered with a 5.9 Cummins. Massey that he pulls. He built a JD 6030 with Detroit as well.

Sure! from 1937-44 Mack built the 3/4 ton ''ED'' pickup truck, also known as a ''Junior''. They built just under 3000 of them so they are scarce today. Here's a 1937 Junior and a nice home-built 1965 B-61/pickup. Which do you prefer?

When I was still in school there would be a man who had a Diamond T pick up who would get feed ground at the feed mill with a Diamond T pick up.

The B61 Would be a nicer pickup if it had a more aged looking box like a stepside. Or maybe on from a pickup closer to the time frame of the old B 61, like out of the 60's to about 71. Not just sure when they quit making the B models. Another that would look similar is one of the old R model IH trucks.

Mack Junior was built by REO. I think the ED was the smallest built by Mack rated as a 1 1/2 ton.

I think the Junior (rebranded REO 1/2 ton) is a different truck from the Mack ED (1.5 ton). Either way, they are both rare finds!

Perhaps you could buy an IH CXT pickup. Not quite one-of-a-kind, but it would probably turn a few heads.

Tad Burness! I think I had everyone of his Scholastic Book Club compilations of his syndicated newspaper column when I was in grade school.

But, yeah, you (and Tad) are right.

A rare pick-up based on the B-61 Mack truck. This was equipped with dual wheels, the optional lake pipe exhaust, extra cab lights package, optional 10 lug wheels, & Mack diesel engine. What about those dual rear mirrors and special hood ornament on chrome radiator. How would this be touring with the significant other on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

I like them both.
I would like them even more if they were built on a new frame, new suspension, disk brakes, new engine, auto tranny, AC, and ride like a Cadillac..
Hope that's not asking for too much...
I may get lucky and find a person who can build my dream truck.

You are so right! I reference that truck spotters guide a whole bunch to check on things that no one else really seems to care about these days (except for the good folks on this website)
