Does anyone run a smidley steer stuffer?

Does anyone run a smidley single side. Ive been thinking about ordering one. I feed out 7 steers a year. I want a single side because it will be up against a wall. Pictures are appreciated.

Some of the College's have prints to build a self feeder, i had a college plan built one, mine was a two sided, one also, but no reason you couldn't eliminate the one half, mine had two fill holes, held a mixer tank easy! They worked good for ground ear corn, very little waste, and i fed free choice hay !

Always liked the two sider we had. A one side would be great for a place like yours and 7 head. I only have seven head but hand feed in a bunk daily, 5 pails shell corn.

I have a Amish made one sided one and a double sided one that I converted into a one sider. The one sider will hold about a ton and the other about 2 1/2 ton. I have used them probably over 15 years feeding 8-10 steers a year. They are both still in good shape and the big one has always been outside. Although I think the Smidley are a little better built but cost more too. I feed ground ear corn in them and get a little spillage on them where I think the Smidley would work better in that respect. They worked out good too when I had a real job and couldn't always be here at feeding time. I like to get away so I can fill them up and make it easy for someone to take care of them while I'm gone. Would post pictures but I never figured out how to do it on here.

I saw about a half doz small Smidleys sell on a Auction about a month ago and they all brought between 2-3 thousand. I think it was 800 and 1200 I paid for mine years ago. They are probably both worth that or more now. Don't think you'll go wrong with a new Smidley.
