Depends a lot on what you are doing for a light mower probably for plowing or heavy work you will fold it up like a pretzel ecsecially if it hits anything side ways or drops down on something. end ways it would be fine.

The pins on three point hitches will only handle a bar that's a half inch thick or less. I'd look for some 3/8 inch thick bar stock. Even that's going to be a bit iffy, since bar stock is typically mild steel.

What tractor is this for? TSC stocks a few stabilizer bars that might work for you.

Bite the bullet and just buy the correct stabilizer bars. For most application you will need a pair as they are intended to work in tension.

I agree that they could work for a small tractor probably under 25 HP, but they could also bend and the holes would wallow. You should go at least twelve gauge, or even heavier for a bigger tractor. What is the tractor?

Rkh,
Come to Terre Haute and I'll give you adjustable stabilizers.

I don't use stabilizers. Jubilee has chains to minimize swinging
and my Jubilee is in retirement..My boy likes the Jubilee too.

You didn't say for what tractor. My 3910 came with these as standard equipment. Perfect stabilizer for me. I had the OEM type crap on my 3000 and decided to put a set of these on it. Only mod was to drill a hole in the lift arm at the correct distance...otherwise fit right perfectly and no more torn up stabilizers when I try to use a heavy implement on the 3 pt.

The lift arms on both the tractors I mentioned are CatII, which I assume yours is. I already had attachment points for the rear axle as bottom plates to hold the fender bolts to the axle housing. However, if you don't have such I think the Amazon link showed them for sale too if you scroll way down the ad.

Your lift arms may already have holes that will fit.
