Thats right , going to see what kind of deal this is , $200 each , 6 of them in an old chicken barn. Was told they had to go, property for sale and barn to be torn down , several implements and all equipment thrown in with the tractors, will tell GPL about them after inspection, none have ran in probably 10-12 years, all are complete I was told.

I can never find deals like that. Even if they don't run I would bet that 200 dollars will be a lot of value here. Still got hopes of a barn find JD 630 nonetheless.

Good for you, hope you get them.Of course that means we will all expect pictures.LOL Actually mean appreciate pictures.

Truck malfunction has prevented me from getting to them in time, friend saw them listed at an estate sale in NW FL about 45 miles from me, my Chevy 2500 was dead as a hammer, ran to town bought a new battery from Advance Auto as I had a 4-1/2 year old Walmart battery in it, installed battery and click, bad starter solenoid, Chevy mounts solenoids on top of the starter which is underneath the truck between transmission and exhaust pipe, not a quick fix for me to do laying on the ground, friends told me all tractors were bought by one man. I wanted one with a belly mower and intended to put rest of them in GP Loves hands, was a quick deal that had to be done on spur of the moment, and by the way , out of frustration I layed under the truck and whacked the solenoid few minutes ago and truck cranked , moved it out of the barn and cranked it 5 more times then failed 1 time and cranked again, got to replace solenoid or it will put me down for sure somewhere , they guy that got them all us a tractor flipper, he buys and sells all the time. He got them fair and square and was at the right place at the right time

"got to replace solenoid or it will put me down for sure somewhere"

With those Chevy starters if some tapping got a few more starts from it the odds are that the brushes are worn out.

If you take it off and want to repair it have a look at the brushes first.

Also, at a local autoparts store ordering in a solenoid will typically cost nearly as much or even more than a re-man starter.
