She's a real beauty! We just don't find them in that condition out here. Looks like it has the top of the grille forming part of the hydraulic reservoir. I have had both styles, wonder why MH did that. Good luck with the old girl, if you change your mind.....!

They are nice. This is my second 55. I have a standard one already. Would like to have a diesel. Found an LP model that I am going to try and buy just a couple days ago.

Thanks centash. Im going to have fun with it for sure. For quite a while the hydraulics on the Massey Harris stuff looked like add on kits and actually where for a while. Probably not for sale till I tip over some day.

Do mind posting some pics of the setup when you get time. Both my 55 and 555 have hydraulics. But the 55 looks like an add on with fender mounted valves. The 555 has what looks like a charlynn hydraulic setup.

Looks like a factory pump, reservoir lines and valve on that one....at least it's the same as a 1952 model 55 standard I had....

Having never seen the 55 in viewing the response pictures my first impression was that surely was a tall block....stroke must have been bodacious......looking up the specs on the www yeah it is....6 and the 6.3L of cubes explains the requirement to get those big fat R1s to make good contact with the soil. Was surprised at the low compression for gas.....I guess that was for multifuel applications. The 15:1 for the diesel was low too.

Not hard to see a sled puller milling the head, or installing high dome pistons, and upping the injector pump, this would make one fine sled puller at a tractor pull.
