I have a 1947 or a 1948 Ferguson TE20 with Continental z120 engine. Someone has be tampering with the identification plate so, i am not sure i i can trust it(See picture) Does it say 3390 or 33901(1?) The one's added after 3390 looks like the have been punched.

The two other pictures are from the left side of the trasnmission. The stamps say 2 4 4 47, does that meen that my tractor is a 47?

(quoted from post at 07:05:56 03/29/22) I dont have a tag under the steering wheel

Where is the identification plate in your picture located? All the letters and numbers on it are punched. The shape of some characters lends to them punching deeper and clearer, such as the "T". From using character punches, my experience is 1 is one of the easiest to punch deeply. The wider the character the more the force is spread and generally will not punch as deep. Just my experience, others may vary.

I am wondering because the font of the two last number are wrong.(3390 are the right font, but not the two last) the letter 1 in old Ferguson serial numbers shold not look like that. They shold look like this 1, not just a line. and they are punched alot deeper that the other numbers aswell.

3390 is a 47 model, 33901 is a 48, 339011 does not exist with a continental engine.

The plate is located above the steering wheel.
