Fast hitch 2 bottom plow

A good friend stopped by last night. His dad passed away little
over a year ago and had a few Farmall tractors and
implements. An 856, 756, 656, and a 350 utility. His mom
who I know very well wants to clean everything up. Tractors
are staying for now. Among the implements is a 2 bottom fast
hitch plow. Ive seen it before, and if I remember right it has
large what I would call reset springs. She wants to get rid of
them. Whats a fair price ? I know the condition of the wear
parts really determines that, but how about a ball park ? I
would use them just for plowing my garden plots here with my
300 r/c. So how does using a fast hitch plow work on these
tractors ? Never had a plow on it. Do you have to adjust the
depth constantly ? Right now my tractor is set up so I have
down pressure on the 3 pt for snow plowing. Do I change it for
no down pressure ? I have plowed quite a few acres with our
Oliver 1650 and 3 pt plow. This seems a little different.

No down pressure. Pull the pin on the lift arm. The draft control should assist some (not a full function draft control). If the plow has two part wear edges with a separate point and share, the parts may be difficult to find. Set the right rear wheel inside so that the first furrow is the same width as the plow bottoms. Allow free side to side motion (no sway limit pin). Jim

the Farmall 300 could have 2 different fast hitches. The newer one is like that the 4/560s and 06 series, as the yoke has a hinge in the middle. the older style has a bell crank hooked to the platform, a solid yoke, and a second hydraulic cylinder on the front of the FH yoke that will control the plow depth. I plowed many acres as a young man with the older style that was on Dad's F300. I have the newer style on several tractors, but I think the older style gives a bit more depth control.
When plowing with the old style hitch, take out the pin that gives you down pressure and also the pins that keep the sway solid. Does a nice job.
IIRC, the 300/350 utilities had FH plows made just for them. I don't know what made them special, and I don't know why they wouldn't work on a Farmall. I can't put my hands on my plow model book to look right now.
most 2 bottom FH plows I see on marketplace or CL start at $100-125/bottom and go up from there.

Ok sort of confused on what I have. Heres some pics

Bear with me please. Pull the pin on the lift arm ? Not sure what your talking about. There are 2 roll pins on the top of the valve body which I thought controlled down pressure. I understand about the sway bolts.

the bolt thru the collar in the 2nd picture wants to be out for plowing. (That bolt is usually in the top hole on the vertical shaft.) The draft control such as it was, didn't come out until the newer style hitch, and even then I would call it suspect. Real draft control didn't work well until the 706/806.

looking at the first picture, the bracket holds one end of the Hyd cyl. the other end of cyl hooks to the circled part on this picture, which I don't see in your picture. Pic of 300FH from internet.

Does it Look like this? I bought it 25 years ago to plow my garden, after I painted it I didn't want to get it dirty so I've never used it.
