Looking at buying several of these ratchets is there an advantage to one or the other?

I have both and use both. The go to is the swivelhead- got multiple 1/4 and 3/8 only one 1/2 inch. The hinged one is slick because it can fold into a speed handle once a long fastener is loose (I use it on lugnuts).

The top is a SK patent that was copied after the Patent expired. Great design and applies torque with less side force and unwanted twisting. I haver both and use the top one as a go to. Jim

I had the standard ratched in 1/4 in, 3/8 in and 1/2 in and short, medium and long. then flex head in those sizes as well. All types were used depending on the job. Also in all 3 sizes breaker bars in fron short to very long. Cannot have enough styles of ratchets or enough of them. Would have liked to have had the 3'4 size as well but not enouse to buy that big of the handles.

I use both I prefer a fixed head long handle. I spec I use the long handle 99% of the time after years of using a short handle they now feel Strang and not up to the task.

Spend the money and buy the good one,the long handle flex is a great invention,I have three beacuse I break them. The head is the same as the short handle and you get way more leverage on the long handle.I have two Snapons and one MatCo. THe best advice about using one I can give, is don't yank on the handle, just pull, and keep pulling. Mine were used on a lot of brake calipers, not a lot of room and a lot of rust.
