Does anyone know if portable steam cleaning gets rid of mildew and ground in dirt on yellow vinyl tractor seats? Spray cleaners just don't have the result I'm looking for....Thanks!

There is a good chance that it will melt the plastic. If you try it and it ruins a good seat you have not gained. Goof Off product, Full strength Dawn Dish detergent, vinyl cleaner (specific Pro cleaner) can help.

Have to be careful with heat around vinyl.
Same with aggressive solvents, easily melted.
Possibly the surface is scratched and the dirt is ground down into the scratches. I would try automotive vinyl cleaner, maybe vinyl top cleaner, work up from there.
Best test on the underside first as you get stronger chemicals!

There are different kinds of "steam cleaners."
Most here are thinking "hot water pressure washer."
Is that what you're talking about or are you talking about one of those gimmick infomercial steam cleaner things that kinda fog things with steam?

Vinyl, especially after a few years of wear develope tiny pockets in the surface.
If looked at with a good magnifier, the surface looks like lava rock.
Boats of all types have yards of vinyl seating.
3M has pretty good reputation for good stuff and know how.I
Do not use bleach! Depending on thread used at the seams certain chemicals will destroy the thread.

I was thinking of one of those handheld portable steamers, but not sure if it would damage the vinyl
seat and just be a waste of money.
