I'm trying to find out the model of my tractor all the parts I ordered are wrong the ser. no. is to 26214 you can't see the one on the motor

That serial number shows to be for a 1950 TO20. The only place the number would have been displayed would be on the dash plate. The plate was attached with simple screws, often lost or interchanged during rebuilds and part swapping. There was no serial number on the engine. There are date codes on the major castings, but they are usually a year in storage before assembly.

There are differences to look for, if this is a TO series.

A TO20 has a flat dash.

A TO30 has the air intake through the dash.

A TO 35 has a hi-low transmission.

Am I even in the ball park?

You can also go on Tractor Data and look at pictures.

After about 5 posts you can post pictures, or go to site comments and get early permission.

What kind of parts do you need?

Are you Southern Ray? If so, it is likely the reason you are having trouble here is the handle, you posted with on this forum, shows you as a new user with just two posts. Southern Ray asking about posting pictures down in the Site Comments Forum, shows 2310 posts. I believe you will have better luck using your old handle.

Did you buy the starter on this site?

Or where ever you bought it, once you determine the model and engine, call them with some measurements, they can probably sort it out.

Do you see any casting numbers on the engine? Like Z 120? That's a Continental 120 cubic inch, what would be in a TO20. Possibly you have a TE 20, British built, different engine, aluminum transmission.

Which throttle linkage do you need?

I bought all the stuff on Yesterday's Tractor for a Ferguson to20 nothing fit then I bought a starter from a different company and it did not fit some of the other part numbers I have on there have an m f does that mean I have a Massey Ferguson not just a Ferguson the starter that I bought has a longer nose cone then the one that was on my tractor

(quoted from post at 21:57:28 03/21/22) This is my first time

Ok, just a coincidence, two Rays asking about pictures.

Not always, but in many cases new users have to have 5 or more posts on record before the site lets them post pictures (or links), due to site spam filters. You are now showing 5 posts so it should let you post pictures within a post or two. You can try going down to the Test Forum and try to attach your pictures to your test post. Then make your post here again. here is a size limit as well, I think it is a total of 7mb per post (be it one picture or the total of several). Some pictures (often taken with phones), are too large and have to be reduced before they will post. If it doesn't work in the next few posts, go down to the Site Comments Forum and ask YT Support for assistance.

If that serial number is correct and the date codes on the castings indicate 50's era, it has to be a Harry Ferguson, Massey Ferguson didn't come along until the 60's.

I'm thinking there is a short and long starter, not sure. And TO starter is different than TE.

What is wrong with your original starter? Can it be fixed? You will find original parts are better quality than the aftermarket knock-offs.

Still the seller should know what you need and make it right.

Loo at measurement A for hood bonnet side panel/

If yours measure about 46 inches your hood is not TO 20.

You might want to research that statement a bit.

I'll leave it up to you whether you want to correct it or not.

The TE 20 uses the Continental Z120 also. The TEA 20 uses the Standard engine.
The TE 20 can be recognized by the strut rods that brace the front support to the bellhousing.

The Z120 engine can be bolted into the TEA 20, but there's a mess to deal with the
flywheel and starter. I think if that's been done, you need the TEA starter. The
length of the engine must be compensated at the front mount.

Ray, you have a TO 20. Can you post a picture of the original starter and the replacement side-by-side? The original starter is a 6 volt AC Delco unit, any decent starter/alternator shop would be able to rebuild your old unit.

Thank u there is about 1 inch difference
in length and maybe. 1 inch in diameter
the old one is shorter and fatter

Somebody sent you the wrong starter, get back with where you got it and tell them they sent the wrong item. And get them to replace it with the correct unit. DON'T try to modify to make a fit.
