Predator v-twin repower

Hello,

I have owned my very first John Deere 140 H3 with a Johnson 120 loader for two years. I was fortunate enough to use it for snow removal and some misc stuff for these two years however after the blizzard we had in Massachusetts I ended up blowing the Koehler engine. I have already purchased the adapter kit for a predator v-twin repower and Im about to but the engine this weekend. Has anyone done this and if so be willing to offer up any advice or tips ? Thanks in advance.

Not specifically with a JD, but I repowered a MF 1670 (?) with that same Predator motor over 4 years ago. not a direct bolt-up replacement. Required some chasis
modifications, but a fun project. Have been more than pleased.
Use it every day as my small chore tractor at the dairy.

I re powered a 140 with a Briggs Vanguard V twin - 18 hp. Was a tight fit, took some ingenuity. But works great, has
served for a number of years/

I have 2 used terramites. Terramites come from the factory with
a 20 hp kohler command. One terramite has a 20 hp
replacement honda.
If I ever need to replace the Kohler command, I WOULD REPLACE IT
WITH A KOHLER.
Stub shaft on the honda needs to be longer.
The shaft height is different.
Muffler gets in the way. Part of the frame had to get cut. The
exhaust comes out the side of the muffler instead of the front.
Motor won't let me grease the coupler..
I don't care about saving a dime. I would use an engine that
came from the factory..

(quoted from post at 12:43:49 03/21/22) Look around at Weekendfreedom.com , all John Deere lawn and
