JD 440 reverser oil?

Recently bought a 440 jd with 2-53 detroit, has a 71 loader and 50 backhoe. I am going through all the fluids on it and i was wondering what to put back in the reverser. The cast number on the reverser by the fill cap is T11032T. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Matt welcome to YT!
For others like me who was wondering what a JD440 is,
info says it is an industrial version of the 435. These
are the tractor models that JD put a Detroit 2-53 2
cycle Diesel engine in for the diesel models.

I had a 440 once. I used good john deere
hyd fluid. Or the best one they have in
the auto parts store. Same one you should
use in the hyd system.

just rebuilt a 440 reverser not to long ago; my original jd service manual says to use type a atf ; parts are getting hard to get for them our clutch facings were disintegrated, so i would be a little careful about the oil

As well as ATF, JD Hy-Gard or an equal JDM J20C UTHF is ok to use.

The 440 that we had was a crawler, with a 2 cylinder JD gas engine, and a manual reverser, with a long lever
on the left side. A good machine, but a little underpowered.

The reverser with the left side lever was a manually shifted, wet clutch reverser. Fluid was separate from the transmission. Originally used Type "A" ATF, then 303, now Hy-Gard would be the fluid. So ATF ("A" or Dexron III) or Hy-Gard (JDM J20C UTHF) should be fine, but none of the 303 oils being marketed should be used.

You should be fine. The cut sheet says it works for commercial transmission applications requiring Type A, as well as meeting J20C.

The Mobil tractor Hydraulic Fluid is the same as the Mobil 424, I think it is mainly a packaging poly for the farm and garden store for recognition compared to the Mobilfluid 424 name which is well known on the industrial side and has been used for years.
