Bought another piece for collection

I just bought one of the very last 214t John Deere balers for my small collection. This one left the factory with a yellow pickup and it has rollers on the plunger rather than wear pads. I need to make sure it ties good then I will be selling my older 214t. Paid $775 for it and with todays prices feel that is fair. The only piece I have added as prices are just so high right now. Will post pics when I get it home. I would like to find brackets and drives to put a No2 bale ejector on it. Have the ejector just need some mounts. If you have or know of any setting somewhere please let me know. Thanks Tom

You got good value which is very hard to do currently. Lots of things I would like to upgrade on but with a limited budget value will be a sticking point for me. I just watched three JD 630's (Pennsylvania) at auction online last night. The cheapest was 6,400 dollars and the one that sold for 8,400 dollars would not even have got half of that just a year and a half ago. Checking results there was a 630 out west that had WFE, front wheel weights, front weights, 3pt, etc. with nice paint that sold for 7,800 just within the last two weeks. Tough to buy those at a reasonable price around here and I would settle for a project. In general finding good equipment at a good price is hard and will only get more difficult as the supply is dwindling at an accelerated pace. Parts yard situation is not much better as the local JD yard is out of second remote assemblies for 20 series New Gens.

The last 630 I had was narrow front with dual hyds and I sold it for $3800 about 4 years ago. I paid $3000 for it on a consignment sale in Iowa before there were internet sales. Watched 3 different sales this morning online and bids were coming in from everywhere. It is very hard to buy anything to resell. I have enough projects that were bought at cheap prices to keep me out of trouble for this year and maybe next unless I start getting more done. Tom
