Oil came in today

About a 500 dollar bill up over 100$ more than last year but
figured I better get it bought before I couldnt . 15 gallon
hydraulic oil and 7.5 gallon of engine oil .

You might want to post Barney to guard the oil until you use it. Glad I changed my hyd oil last year, Along with Cool-Guard 2 antifreeze. I stayed with JD products. Figured what extra it cost might be worth it. Stan
 
The hy gard seems to not leak as bad as the cheap oil passed the seals . I only run it in my 3020 my 4020 gets j20c equivalent because the seals on the farmhand blow quite regularly without warning and it will dump 5 gallon of oil on the ground so fast it will make your head spin I usually end up resealing one of the big cylinders on it at least once a year sometimes twice
 
i haven't had trouble getting oil (usually use AMSOIL) but filters are usually back ordered here lately.
 
Thats why I thought I might get some oil sale Is on now was worried might not get it later . 100$ hydraulic oil I didnt think Id have to live to see that day I remember when 30$ was a lot . the engine oil will last me until next spring hydraulic oil wont last that long .
 
Sale was all this month on filter and oil so I had em bring it before the price he quoted me in February went up
 
I brought oil Saturday at the Kubota dealer. UTD2 hydraulic at 113. per 5 gallons and 15-40 engine oil for 98 bucks per 5 gallons. That was Kubota brand supposedly 10% off during there spring open house. I think the hydraulic oil was close to what I paid a couple years ago but I think the engine oil was up close to 30 bucks a bucket.
 
The Hygard doesnt leak as bad because it is thicker and has seal conditioners. The current spec is near 10w30.

The cheap stuff is still 20wt from the days prior to CVT transmissions.
