I agree. When I was a teen a school pal's dad worked for (Howard) Hughes Tool in Houston. Hughes had a hunting lease down on the coastal marshes for employees and their families. The rice farmer's tractors were all steel wheeled with spikes on the rears.

The favorite lease vehicle was a Model T because it had the thin tires and could sink down through the muck and get a solid footing. Diamond back Rattlers were common down there and when Dove hunting in the fall, one had to be really careful as they were everywhere. Some operators had remote On/OFF switches for their irrigation pumps because in the Winter the snakes would be attracted to the warmth of the engine/pump and were all over some of them.
