When I was a kid we went from Houston to Rockport via Highway 90. Somewhere along the route, heading West, I recall exiting a small town that was on a bluff giving you a panoramic view of what was apparently river bottom land....since you are more or less on the coastal plains......may have been the Brazos River. Anyhow, in the spring, the whole valley is covered in wild flowers and is beautifu, actually breathtaking for a young lad. You ever been on 90 and see that?
