Sometimes you just get lucky, Pictures

Pictures of cutting wheat that had just the right amount of nitrogen. Twenty five pounds less and you would not have as much yield and twenty five pounds more and it would have been flat on the ground.

Wow, that looks like some good wheat for sure. Its fun to harvest wheat like that. Now as for the truck, if that truck was on an Iowa road the weigh boys would be licking their chops. I can only wish we could haul that much in one load. How do get a load like that rolling in the field? 18 speed tranny?

Why all the axles under the trailer? Can't be that heavy, for flotation off road? Do they lift for turning? Or over the road?

I recall you had posted photos of that truck some time previously, but I forget the details. You had mentioned Michigan so the truck rules must be different there than farther west.

Wow for nice wheat. Were you able to hold it for the good prices currently being offered?

He's close to 150,000 gross and probably about 32-35,000 empty so around 1500 bushel pay load. Yup 11 axles will allow 160,000 gross and lift the ends to turn with it. A 9 spd will get it rolling in the field if it's not wet. Rear gears make a lot difference in getting it rolling. Probably on 3.70's with short 22's will work on it. Mine has 3.55 on tall 24's with the 18 spd will roll with just idle then accelerate. I weigh in at about 43,000 empty and if I had the 2-3 lift axles would be in the 140,000 range. Nice truck. I like end dumps better for auger use at the bin with no pit.

We use palisades so the wheat and barley wont lodge and the fertilizer goes to making grain instead of straw

Thank you for clarifying for me my curiosity concerning center tire wear when cornering....lifting the centers off the ground makes a lot of sense. Never saw a rig that big down here....course we don't do wheat like folks up North either.
