I bought this diesel fuel stabilizer called Pri-D in the middle of 2020 I went to go put some in my backhoe and its turned in some sort of weird solid gel type of mass, its not even cold cause Im in Nevada Has anyone heard of this particular brand and has it happened with any other brands? Sometimes my backhoe will stay on used for two or three months and I thought I would put some fuel stabilizer in it, anybody have any recommendations?

Diesel for 6 months isn't an issue. As long
as no water in the tank. My Case is running
on 2 yr old fuel with no treatment. I have used stabil in my 2 strokes before I started using non ethanol. They do make one for diesel.

It does not indicate cold weather gel resistance, so the fact that it became a semi solid doesn't surprise me. Diesel does not
need treatment if it doesn't live in the cold or have colonies of bacteria growing in it. Jim

Possibly a negative reaction to some 'biodiesel'? Do you know if your diesel fuel has any vegetable oil in it? I've tried some,
but only in hot weather, and when I can burn it right up. I had no problems, but wouldn't want it setting around.

mazon sells that product, and there are several customer reviews including one with contact information for the manufacturer.

(quoted from post at 15:33:28 03/09/22) Indeed. I did not read carefully enough.

Thats correct, Im pretty glad I didnt use it now, I mean I could see it gelling up if it got cold and its not rated for that but wouldnt it un gel when it got warm again?

Only 100% sure way to keep diesel from jelling is be using the correct amount of #1 fuel blended into the #2. I have been out along the road at 1:00 AM blending #1 fuel in truck tanks. The first thing they told me-- I put the antigel outta the bottle in my tank.

Looks like snake oil to me! I do add a little biocide to mine when storing it. When adding fuel that has
been stored I pour it through a funnel with a very fine screen, a few years ago the screen plugged.

That bottle looks like it's about 20 years old by the design and condition of the label. Kept in out of the sun, but sitting around for a long long time.

What does the manufacturer of the product have to say?

Most Diesel additives WILL gell or thicken up in their natural state but NOT when mixed with fuel.

Even the better quality ones will. Having said that i would only by name brand additives.
