Wife's tractor

She is loving her Massey! I actually got to drive it for 5 minutes yesterday to load a set of cub wheel weights for a guy. She drove it all day taking loads of debris to the road for the city to haul off. We got the old soffit down, old porch roof down and a deck torn down. Also removed several bushes. Now we have to replace that soffit.....way worse water damage than we thought, water was getting in where the porch roof connected to the house roof, rotted out the bottom 10-12 inches of roof plywood under the shingles. Plan is to put a metal roof on at some point this summer. Always something.

A canopy and custom-made brush guard for the grill would be a nice addition. I held off for 5 years on the canopy once I broke down and brought one I love it.

Show us the forks you have on the bucket.
Happy you have a tractor with a loader and hoe..
The small tractors are very handy for yard work.

I bought

titan forks with brush guard. Love it.
I use Kubota as an elevator to loft.

I attached metal to roll cage to keep sun and rain off me.

Also keeps me from getting smacked with

brush when trail blazing.

Only one problem with Cabs and Canopies. They trap noise. It's
like you are inside a metal drum. Engine vibrations turns metal
into a metal speaker, loud.

My bucket

isn't a quick disconnect. I have no choice but to make my own forks. They do everything I need,

Made mine using 7 inch used channel.
Strong enough to list this log.
You need rear ballast if you

want to lift heavy things to take weight off front wheels and axle.

If you desire a canopy, consider a roof from a golf cart. Your local golf cart store/customizer likely has a pile of them out back for cheap.
Most are made of two layers of milk jug like plastic. Top layer has rain gutter in it. UV resistant and not noisey like metal canopy.

(quoted from post at 06:18:38 03/04/22) Geo. Clamp on forks for now. Will be buying a quick attach set soon.

Clamp on forks have their place. For hauling brush clamp on forks give you the advantage of still having the wide solid loader bucket to hold the small stuff that would fall through forks. And you get a little more length to hold the bulky light branches. The ideal setup is a grapple but that gets you into more expense and the need for hydraulics out to the bucket.

Your lucky your wife drives the Massey. My wife will not go near it. I told her it was easy to drive but still no. Here s A picture of my Massy with a Gabble

Here is another load that I do not recommend. I wanted them cut shorter but thought I'd see what it would do. I lifted it about one foot and no more. I was afraid to move for fear I would tork the loader frame

Certainly helps with the work, nice to have a small loader tractor like that !

The house repairs, that is always disappointing when the damage extends further then you thought. Years ago, I did a lot of the same kinds of work you do, one job, a referral by a family member to one of their good friends, same thing, big porch, rafters were rotten extensively, the more we uncovered the worse it got. We informed them it needs to come down, at least the roof and that there was a city code enforcement officer who lives directly across the street. They did not want to hear it, you have to fix it ! We said well then, there is nothing to fix, you need a permit, or the guy across the street will likely take action. We billed for the nice Douglas fir tongue and groove flooring we bought for the job, left same there and said good luck to you, we won't be doing the work.

Friend across the road now has this problem, no contractor will touch it so far, be interesting to see how your repairs go on this, hopefully there's plenty to tie back into!
